This is a surprisingly effective horror flick. It is NOT a slasher flick although there is quite a bit of gore. There are supernatural elements and the Clown ends up being fairly scary especially near the end. Very dark and creepy story with a sad feeling of doom for the main characters. I really enjoyed it. Yes some of the acting seems a bit wooden at moments and the kids are well..."kids". Overall it was a clever original concept that predated the onslaught of scary clown films capitalizing from the scary clown craze that has been elevated by "It".
