You don’t have to be yawn, yawn a ‘snowflake’ to find some of the violent scenes in this totally over the top and unnecessary. Black humour? Drama? No idea. The hot tub scene was the last straw for plausibility and as for the cat scenes?? There are enough sick weirdos who don’t have the brain cells to compute that bullying and violence, especially to women and animals, is not normal behaviour without showing it as ‘entertainment’!!!

Please read Rob del Casale‘s review below. It could have been written by me, so I’ll save myself the bother. The draw for me was Branagh and the fact I am very familiar with Venice. What could possibly go wrong? Beyond disappointed in this boring, slow self indulgence of Kenneth. My friend fell asleep. I think that says it all.

I found this to be a refreshing take on a Police drama. Totally disagree with one of the reviews regarding the acting. Normally I am the first one to criticise but I found the main character’s acting (in particular after she had been coshed over the head) to be very realistic. No issue with other actors performance either. Great to have this insight into the prejudice that still abounds albeit however subtle or unintended. Enjoyed this enormously.
