The first half of this book is really interesting and fun to read. Then it dissolves into this incredibly boring, self indulgent sludge. Wish I'd never bought it.

Quite a strange book. Loved Matterhorn.. this one less-so. It is laboured and clunky in many parts but still very interesting. A real look at a bygone era. All the Finnish names are hard to keep up with.
