This books has delicious and creative flavour pairings that I absolutely love. It’s beautifully laid out and a gorgeous addition to any cook book collection. However some of the recipes lack instructions, and salt. Could use some indication on things like mixer speeds, overall times, whether or not spices/nuts should be toasted first, more descriptive on things like consistency or appearances of batters, among other minor details that just seem to be missing. With that being said the book has some great ideas, so I use the flavour combos from this book in conjunction with basic recipes from my other cookbooks to get good consistent cakes. I think if you follow these recipes exactly and don’t have much prior knowledge of baking this book might lead to disappointing results.
Things I baked from this: cherry & coconut tahini cake, blackberry & sage pudding, earl grey, orange & white chocolate cake, potato & cauliflower curry pie
