Classic adventure travel account. Great book. I'm very keen on Baja because I loved the book written years ago about it by an English guy from 9 miles away. He lived in Tunbridge Wells. And he set off on an adventure that led to a bestseller book of it in the nineteen eighties when I was a kid growing up. The impact of the book on my life and interests is probably incalculable. I read it from cover to cover. Used to have both the English and the US editions. It was about his mammoth walk all around the Baja Peninsula. Book was called Into a Desert Place. He survived by eating rattlesnakes and cacti. By sourcing water too from Cacti and the sea. I've lost those books now. But always fondly remember the book. Think the author's name from memory was Graham McIntosh. Must look that up some time. That was the book that got me interested in wilderness outdoors survival studies really.
