Very nearly my favorite film, all time. A WWII aficionado, I found the film refreshingly accurate where accuracy could apply, as none of the characters portrayed in other scenes survived to reveal the actual events. For the greater part, I was hardly aware of the subtitles. It was as if they were speaking my language. I keep the disc on my PC and watch it incessantly.
