Honestly very disappointed in this final season. It seemed rushed and we get very little from his life post 2000. The series completely ignores the fact that he has three children not just one daughter. His relationship with Aracely Arámbula and their two boys is completely passed over as if they did not exist. Exactly what led to his almost bankruptcy (why did his manager have to sue him for Unpayed wages? What did he do or what happened with “Joe” his tour manager after season 2. The duet with Michael Jackson is mentioned but they never follow up on wether it was just mentioned or if they actually ever really tried to do something. I felt like the series did such an amazing job with season one, they dove so far into his beginning and all the speculation with his mom that as a fan I was drawn back into my childhood and that feeling of connection and understanding of my idol. Season two kind of made me understand why he is so private and why his love life was so complicated, they made us feel for Luis Miguel and understand the man beyond the artist… we got to see him as vulnerable and flawed. But season 3 just left me confused and irritated, if it was Luis Miguel who didn’t let Netflix finish this project correctly then it really is a shame because this could of been an incredible way to fully gain access to one of the most infamous and famous Latin American heartthrobs. I honestly feel cheated and I feel like they tried too hard in the end to wrap everything in a nice little bow and happy ending….. and now it gives the impression that he is once again pretending he doesn’t have two other children which can make him come off as a dead beat dad again. So disappointed!!!
For me Diego saves the show and that is the reason I gave it 3 stars rather than 2. He did an amazing job and I loved that they didn’t dub the songs and rather allowed Diego to do his own renditions. Great acting…. But for me the ending was a complete and utter disappointment.
