I'm not usually a fan of fantasy but have binge watched the eight episodes while I was ill. I'm rivetted. Hope there will be another series. The only grumble I have is that although in all likelihood some scenes were shot at night, much of it is very dark & at times action is too fast moving to follow. It took quite a while to work out who was who, with the red, blue & green women. I can fully recommend it though as pure escapism from Covid, & beyond!!

Absolutely brilliant - as good if not better than Bond. Best film I've seen in ages. Yay!!

One knows that film-makers like to embroider reality but what really grated with this portrayal of poor Mary Stuart's tragic life story was the weird way in which Elizabeth & Mary 'met' albeit with curtains wafting between them & had conversation. The two Queens NEVER met in the 18 years of Mary's imprisonment in England; and recent research has found that the Execution Warrant was buried in a pile of papers requiring signature causing Elizabeth to sign without full realisation of the machinations of her courtiers. History should be accurate & not played about with - otherwise an enjoyable film but far from memorable.

I thought it was brilliant - sad obviously as poor Freddy was latched onto like so many pop stars before him, but amazing music & very well cast. Fully recommended!
