These books were AMAZING AND THE BEST THING EVER!!! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!! AGHHH DEFINITELY MY FAVORITE BOOKS ON THE WORLD! When I heard there was a movie, I got super excited! But just watching the trailer, I knew it was awful. Books are always better than the movies, but this made the books look AWFUL. Let’s start with looks. I know this isn’t too important, but they got everybody’s looks wrong. -Ruby looked nothing like Ruby from the books. AT ALL. For every reason. -Where is Liam’s accent? And his white-blond hair? -I’ll quote from the books. “He had thick, dark brown hair.” Clancy is NOT A RED HEAD! -Zu’s hair is supposed to be all shaved off, except for some few spikes of hair. -Cate is blonde. Seriously. -I guess Chubs was okay, but he didn’t act like him enough. Also, Chubs is a BLUE! NOT A GREEN! Yes, he is smart, but he is a blue! Now, the movie lost SO MANY key details from the books. Where were the letters Jack, Chubs, and Liam made?! Chubs did not BURN at the end, he was shot. Reds are only mentioned a tiny bit in the book and make no appearances, though the movie shows them. Also, the use of abilities is way too dramatic. Liam doesn’t step out the van and use he hands to throw the tree at Cate and Rob and Lady Jane, he hangs out the window and is laughing while Chubs is having a panic attack. Speaking of the van, it’s BLACK BETTY, not BLUE BETTY. There is so much more I could say, but I’m kinda lazy to write it all. Overall, I’m glad they haven’t made Never Fade and In the Afterlight movies yet, because there is SO MUCH that happens, and can’t be fit in one movie. I don’t want those amazing books to be ruined for viewers.
