For me, The End Of Evangelion was an amazing film, that had amazing animation for some of the scenes, especially the Eva Unit fights, and the story, although complex, is somewhat understandable but also somewhat frustrating at the same time. I'd recommend giving it, and the original anime series "Neon Genesis Evangelion" a watch, even if you don't like anime. Other Anime definitely handle some of the themes far better than Evangelion, but it's still a great anime franchise as a whole, and I can see why it is so popular. Also, 'Cruel Angel Thesis' and 'Come, Sweet Death' are amazing songs that come from the OST of both 'Neon Genesis' and 'The End Of' Evangelion.
