I knew they shouldn't have messed with this story again. Very hard to even come close to the original. I had very little interest throughout the film. A few eerie parts, but it didn't make up for the long drawn out loose storyline. What were they thinking?

Would have given this a higher rating, but the end leaves you feeling extremely empty. There's no revenge or plot to right the wrong, Don't mess with the cartel is all. Depressing, very depressing.

I'm 48 mins into this film and I just might give up on it. I even spent money to rent it. I started writing screenplays and one of the things they tell you is you have to hook the agent/manager or producer within the first 10 mins. So, how the hell would they like this film? Sheeeeesh!

I just watched this movie. I think the premise is so good, that I'll forgive the special effects ruining it. Personally, I think special effects of spiritualism should be left to visions and dreams in films. When you start seeing all those evil beings in the real life parts, it takes away from the believable concept of it possibly happening. The concept of a being posing as a religious figure is intriguing. I myself wrote a screenplay about the opposite happening. Overall, this was an interesting story. I haven't read the book "Shrine", (which it's based on), but I bet it's better than this film.

I was so disappointed. I'd like to see the script for this. I don't know how it would draw you in. Maybe a book (with the character's thoughts), but this movie was so slow. Then special effects show up that don't seem to be focused on anything. If there were more scenes like the healing of the boy in the hospital it would have been a better film, in my book.

I thought the film was good only because it was about such an awesome artist and interesting life, but didn't realize it was mostly a musical. Would have wanted more of a realistic serious approach in telling his story.
