The story is an important one to show on screen.
But I imagine that Colson Whitehead, the author of
the novel on which the film is based, is terribly disappointed. His story has been butchered.
It was over for me when some kind of equine pops on the screen for absolutely no apparent reason.
Iโm sure that there is a lot of symbolism throughout. However, a viewer should not have to work so hard to figure out the symbolism.
