"And so i try to be kind to everything I see, and in everything I see, I see him." had me in tears, ugly crying session for a whole day.
A book that goes beyond mere words. From impeccable and razor sharp observational writing, accurate depiction of trauma and how it remodels the human brain over time, how we internalise shame, guilty, sexuality, our own personality- for self preservation even though it does not seem like it; to still not deter from the track of our main character's life narration from a third person's perspective till the very end, and having the capacity to make the reader cry for days YET pick up the novel for more. Its not an easy feat for any author to achieve. I've read reviews where people call it trauma p*rn and i completely disagree- some people really are that damaged and the chosen ones- and thank god for this being a fictional eye opener to a kinder, more sensitive world in the future. ๐
