As an adoptive parent who adopted a 12 year old over 15 years ago, I felt this movie did a great job at showing how stressful it is for everyone involved. We had a lot of the same experiences, thoughts and feelings. None of these roles are predictable or easy and everything is complicated when there is trauma involved. I thought the movie did a great job at touching on all things related to adoption. It certainly reflected a lot of our actual experiences, both the bad and the good.
