A movie about Pica, the act of swallowing non-nutritive objects, is eerily disturbingly dealt with in various ways by each character. An incredibly well directed movie that's both depressing yet intriguing. A woman's story as she comes to terms with her childhood (born of rape) and marriage (cold & unloving), to ultimately growing stronger. This woman WAS NOT mentally prepared for a child. HER decision to terminate the pregnancy was the first actual decision she ever made by herself. And it was the right decision for HER. The symbolism/messaging in the ending scene tells you that. As the many 25-35 yr. old women are passing eachother, in a mundane public restroom, is also showing that EVERYBODY has their own individual story. You may not know those private stories, but RESPECT those stories and the choices made within them.
** Opinion, best symbolism in a scene: Hunter gardening while enjoying the beautiful flowers yet looking like Cinderella. Hubby up in the "guilded tower" talking on cell phone and all he can say to her is "I'm going to the gym, bye".
