I mean its a good movie if you're looking for a Drama, but its really not a horror movie. the actors are great and the story is intriguing, but it's not scary. Should be under the Drama genre

so scary and so real! loved this film... 5 stars no doubt

god what a long waste of time. people who are giving this 5 stars keep calling it an artistic "slow burn," uh yeah its slow but there is NO BURN!!!! this movie is not scary in the slightest, essentially nothing happens, and the ending is abrupt and unfulfilling. the only thing scary about this was the setting; a scary midwest barn situation, classic. Just wish the actual movie was scary.

One star because it starts off strong with a few great, classic scares. However... This movie turned out to be more of a drama with mushy family moments rather than horror, which was disappointing. The girl that Dalton hangs out with at his college is such an INSUFFERABLE character to be forced to watch. She is obnoxious and tries way too hard to be """qUiRkY""". she was also just another forced "tough female" type as well, which everyone is so tired of. This movie wasn't unique like the original movies, this one was cranked out of the Hollywood machine just like all of the other moves that come out now.
