This show is proving to be such an amazing adaptation so far! I absolutely loved the first couple episodes and the slight changes they’ve made. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next episodes!
Leah is the PERFECT Annabeth! With the way she just looks very calculating and like she’s piecing together a puzzle is just amazing. Walker just IS Percy. Aryan does such an amazing portrayal of Grover. I really love the way he’s being written in this series. He doesn’t seem to be brushed off as a comedic presence. I hope they continue to show that he’s more than just funny. I didn’t mind that these children didn’t look like their book counterparts because they really just embody the character they portray. I also feel like people aren’t remembering just how these characters acted in the first book, but are rather remembering their personalities from books 4 & 5.
I think more people need to realize that these are children in a children’s series. Saying that they aren’t great actors or that the show is leaning too much towards children is crazy considering it is based on a children’s/middle grade book series. I feel like so far the show is doing a great job of capturing the essence of the first book. Percy is thrown into a world he never really understood and is being told all these new things as he’s still trying to process, so it feels like a lot of information is being thrown into our face and that’s exactly how Percy feels in the book. Personally, I love how things are going. It hurts to see so much hate on this show solely based on the casting.
