I often enjoy this show as with the dishonesty that drives the current news media, a show that shows the contrast between coverages and discusses motives is potentially of unlimited value. In order to make this work, the host and the show format need to come off as neutral. Howard Kurtz usually pulls this off pretty well but when it comes to stories about President Trump, you smell his disdain for the president through the TV. Then he reverts to the same tired tactics as the rest of the Trump deraigned leftist propaganda machine by doing "Fact checks" that are at odds with the facts (i.e. Stating that police did not usher people through the capital on January 6th when footage released in 2023 clearly shows police casually walking around with the "Shaman" and holding doors open for crowds.) He also doesn't challenge Trump during the interview, he adds that in after before transitioning to the next segment thereby disallowing Trump the opportunity to defend his statement (Coward tactic). Maybe he should stick to topics that he can cover in a more neutral way.
