So after playing the game for 2 days, I have to say I’m having fun. Not to say the game is perfect by any means, but this has potential to get your attention, even more so then the main AAA fps arena shooters. I’ll start with the good then highlight the bad. Keep in mind I play on PC with mnk.
Good:
Sniping in this game feels great. My frames were always over 200 and my ping never went over 50. I was finding it really fun to snipe, if that’s your thing you’ll enjoy it quite a bit. They do seem a bit overpowered, but it reminds me of original CoD.
Most guns seem fair at the moment, close range being dominated by shotguns and smgs, while medium to long is your AR, lmg, and snipers. I only had very few experiences of the “ghost bullets” where they didn’t register. And I can chalk that up to it being the first few days and the amount of people on. Most gunfights felt fair to me in the given range I was fighting in, just watch out for snipers.
I like the amount of abilities and characters to choose from, and you get quite a few from the start. It’s nice to have different play styles that can shy away from a dominant meta.
Bad:
I do not like how long it takes to make progression on weapons and general character progression. That seems a little too grindy at the moment, and I’m sure will be changed in the future.
Some abilities seem a bit stronger than others, so the balance isn’t there really. But after playing many matches, you start to develop counters to abilities you struggle defending, and it really makes you think about your playstyle for each map. Which can be considered a good thing, but I think this will cause the more casual player to give up rather than stick with it.
It seems if you play with friends, you can really dominate lobbies. That’s also a problem in CoD , and I don’t really know a solution to it, but you can get spawn camped if you’re playing against the right team.
Only other thing is lack of game modes at the moment. But that seems to always change with time as well. So I’ll be soft on this at the moment.
Overall, I think if you give it a try, you’ll be surprised at the fun you are having, regardless of the early issues.
