Truly a well done retelling of the legend. The original will always hold a special place in my heart but this was very well done. It is astonishing how low the ratings/reviews for this movie are. After reading the negative reviews it seems like people are more upset about the racial context of the film than by the film itself. I guess they never paid close attention to the original. It has always been about this topic. I feel that this remake/continuation brought a lot to the table and was not at all over the top about the racial injustices plaguing this country. If that ruined a movie for you, maybe you need to reevaluate your world views and try to listen more carefully to people speaking out.
