Below average. The tone is inconsistent throughout. Whilst there are some solid ideas, these are overshadowed by the major defecits within the film. Christian Bale played a great villain which could have potentially been one of the best in the MCU series, however the threat posed by him never felt substantial due to the film constantly cutting from dramatic moments to extremely light-hearted, and trivial quips. The film fails to truly commit to the rom-com route, and where there is potential to create something truly different, instead reverts to type and tries to adhere to the standard Marvel formula. Ultimately, the film feels like a bit of a mess.

The pacing can be a little off but once it gets going it's relentless.
