Not a patch on a Philidelphia story on which it is based. Frank Sinatra and Celeste Holme are great but Bing Crosby should act his age. He is awful. Despite being a beauty Grace Kelly utterly lacks the verbal wit and charm that Katherine Hepburn has in the original.
With Cole Porter songs it should have been
a triumph. It isn't. Satchmo is as ever a star.
