Once I started reading this book by Kim Salzman, I couldn't wait to finish it! It was very well written and easy to read. The book tells the story from the perspectives of different characters hoping to escape Sudan during rescue missions to bring Ethiopian Jews to Israel. The father gets to Israel, the pregnant mother is left behind in Ethiopia with her four young children, and their 14-year-old daughter, who is making the journey to Israel with her uncle. I learned about the struggles and sacrifices that immigrating families had to make. I highly recommend reading this book and I can't wait for a sequel!
