A lot of people already tell how bad the series is so I’m just here to add a few thoughs. I give the series 3/5 (includes 1 point plus for creative cinematic effect that contributes a lot to my emotions and whole casts’ effort). Still, I don’t get what the story is trying to convey. No character has reasonable acts. They are inconsistent, selfish, soulless puppets who I think they do not even know what these scenes are all about. I’m gonna listing some of plot points truly get to my nerve: + Why does Kang Ha always act like he has loved Jae Yi for years? What has happened to give him reasons to trust her that much??? =))) + Does Ri-an think he is so different from other bullies at Jooshin just because he had a cold-hearted family?? Every scene of Ri-an is just about how he loves Jae Yi to the point of giving up on everything. So pathetic for a promising character set. + Jae Yi protects Kang Ha by telling she likes him, do the plot even need this scene? Why, why and why. When they are in the same room alone, she even told him she did not hate their deep kiss? Is the production team scheming to make her a questionable b****?? This character is the most inconsitent one to be honest. I understand why the story is set in a high school theme. All the characters are immature kids, who don’t even justify their act for a single second. Haha. But why do they want to invest in a series to describe so trashly about young folks? I have no idea. And i bet so do the production team and the casts.

Spoiler alert!! Those negative reviews are exaggerating. I really do not understand why there are a lot of hate words and statements that deny the whole effort of the production team and the cast put in making this sequel (actually a prequel). Part 2 does not fully meet my expectation, which was set truly high due to part 1 but I respect this work. Some unreasonable events (e.g. how the Loyal could possibly go up everytime they want when once you go down, you can’t do the opposite??), too short and fast development on the side characters (apart from Zamaitin, others seem a little dull to me, did hope to see more on their background and reason to be in the pit), the zero-gravity scene seems odd and out of the plot (there might be later explanation on next part), lack of involvement from the administator (really want to open the door step-by-step to the system behind the VSMC). However, the contrast on capitalism and communism are metaphorized fairly good, practical and easy to absorb. Besides, how the religion, belief, ego, greed and mediocrity of human have us build this long-existing social system with full of inevitable flaws. This movie does not tell us what to do, which to choose. Instead, it shows us different view points, different lives, struggles, evils that all happened in the same pit. The thing I most love about this series (part 1 + 2) is its constant message: “The child is the message”. We might have completed our journeys, but they have chances. Only they could go up, they are the message without any barrier, they are the future and the hope. Whatever system or belief we take, keep in mind the need to make the world safer, better place for our children to grow.
