The Penguin (MAX) is far from your typical TV series. There are no superpowers, superheroes, or over-the-top CGI here. Every aspect—acting, direction, music score, cinematography, script, and makeup—is crafted with such precision and care that it stands as a work of art. In my view, this show reaches the cinematic heights of classics like The Godfather. It’s the best TV series based on a comic book I’ve seen so far (surpassing even the outstanding The Boys). More importantly, it offers the most compelling interpretation of a comic book villain to date—yes, even surpassing Heath Ledger’s Joker, in my opinion. Colin Farrell’s performance as The Penguin is nothing short of exceptional.
