I would say by the way this movie was spoken about as a flop it is HIGHLY UNDERRATED! This movie first off shows representation. In more ways than one! Secondly & most importantly what some viewers may see as nothing people who have experienced DV understand it on a much deeper level. As my child did not understand the male character for anything more then just a villain in a story, it shows that you never truly might know someone, even if you love them. Also however “Powerful” one person may be, community which is one of the most important things that help prevent DV is in the end what saved them all. Hope also saved them, dreaming & wishing isn’t just for children. Adults call them prayers sometimes, just a different word for a similar thing. The third part I will say is that it touches slightly on political issues, immigration & dreams of coming to a better land only to see that those dreams may not come true or even more… I will leave #Disney with this, could you please start fundraising with this movie? I understand that it didn’t meet your expectations however it far beyond met mine & shined a little bit of light back into our lives. More women & children need this & if you use it towards charities for DV, IPV, women/ children’s shelters ect, I can assure you 3 things or my 3 wishes, your movie will skyrocket in sales, you will spread awareness about DV & you will touch the lives of not only those who have suffered but those who never have suffered or understood DV. Bring the Wish home with you today Disney & be the change I wish to see in the world. Be the difference in the globe that we all need because this is a global crisis & throughout the world women mostly are seen as less than. You’ve started off with these feminist type movies, don’t let anyone shut the door on it because it’s what happens behind closed doors that is no longer acceptable. We are “Stronger Together.” Just like your movie shows. Bring us together for our children & our children’s children.
