I love this show as well as After Trek. The Star Trek purist who have been hating on Discovery should evolve and respect the creative process of defining a new flavor within the Star Trek enterprise. What I hate is that they're doing Burnham like they did Sisko when they made him wait 3 years before he was able to don captains bars even when he had been performing the job all along. Discovery should have promoted Burham to captain and given her Discovery to pilot. No other white male character would have been demoted for doing what Burham did. In fact, Star Fleet as well as the fans would have applauded her for being such a maverick. I hope Discovery enjoys at least an 8 to 9 year run like the other Trek shows; I hope plenty above the line/below the line staff get to express themselves through artistic expression; I hope more fans grow the like the show as I do; and I hope that Burham gets those captains bars sooner than later.
