What an amazing possibility for one of China's most intriguing royal mysteries! The story of the Step Empress Nara is told in this beautiful production, with a stellar cast and a solid argument that resolves one of the most enduring and inexplicable stories of Imperial China. The story is truly a work of art, and the acting that supports it isn't simply stellar. The title character is definitely the most endearing and lovable, yet tragic heroine I've seen in years, and Zhou Xin is now my favourite actress. Worthy of binge watching, rewatching and recommending. 10/10
