I think it's disturbing that they have normalized this relationship between the teacher and a student, like it's an ideal romance. Even when he's 4 years older it still seems very inappropriate considering how it all went down. They could have gone so many different ways with the story.

I'm just getting around to watching this show because I took off time from watching TV. First of all, I adore Gabrielle Union!! She's beautiful all around and so talented. I also love the actor who played Patrick. His timbre is so unique and awesome. Loved him since Law and Order. I do not like displaying a woman as having the same type of loose sexual behavior as men. It was too much. It was also too much on making being "black" a political matter. And what point was being made by taking all those std tests before having sex with the white guy?? What?? Some things went overboard.

I like that it relates to the gen X and gen Y relationship. That's pretty funny. But the lead does not look like she's in her 20s. She looks her real age. She is not a strong TV actress. Surprised she was chosen for the lead. Debi is amazing as always. Actor who plays Charles is outstanding. Actor who plays Josh is hot and is one of the better actors. I'm only on season 1 and I hope as the seasons move forward that there's more diversity. It's a bit too "white". If they were going to do that they should have based it in Orange County and not Brooklyn. Anyway, the diversity or lack thereof...is annoying.
