An anxiety attack personified. Had high hopes like so many others. Sandler was just OK. Even degenerates have some self-limiting qualities. The extent to which he buried himself was believable until the final gamble. That was just a risk too far for me. Other films have depicted gambling addiction with a more convincing narrative. Further, I always knew I was watching a film. I get where it was trying to take me, but was never lost in it. Always knew I was being spoon-fed an art project. The best films carry you away so you forget it's a presentation. You are intimately involved, forgetting it's fiction. Didn't happen here. Finally, the musical score was just awkward and loud. Again, 'art' for the sake of art. Really wanted to love this one, but it fell short for me.
