It's good entertainment, however the plot is extremely disappointing and facile. I found the African cardinal and the nun plotline especially misguided. The representation of liberal and especially conservative positions in the Church is a complete caricature (especially when it comes to the Conservatives who sound basically like right-wing politicians which is absurd). Also the addition of random events like terrorist attacks is just too "on the nose" whilst the ending is just too unrealistic. All in all not a very good film, it's especially disappointing if you know anything about the Church. However it's decent entertainment and some of the cinematography and staging is good. I would give it 2 and a half stars but I'm going to round down because 3 is definitely too much
