This expansion was excellent! The people complaining don’t understand that this story isn’t meant to revolve around your character. Instead, it’s a coming of age story surrounding Wuk Lamat and what it truly means to take on the role of leadership.
In the story, your character serves as more of a mentor than a headliner. Having saved the world several times over, your character’s deeds are well known and as you enjoy a much needed rest, you also serve as a guide for Wuk Lamat. As she navigates the weight of the crown, the story also does an amazing job of dealing with how to understand and respect what every race and culture brings to the kingdom. It’s teaches the importance of respecting everyone’s beliefs and appreciation for what it adds to the nation as a whole.
Lastly, it beautifully and masterfully tackles the pain of loss and the importance of memories. It teaches the dangers of not letting go while also showing how it’s ok to move forward and how the natural circle of life is something to be treasured and not feared.
Say what you want about gaming but no one does it better than Square Enix. I don’t understand how you can play an SE game and not feel the love, care and warmth poured into their games. Honestly, I’m not sure we even deserve them.
