It gets a two because the premise is interesting and it's not the worse film I've ever seen. It's akin to a Hallmark movie in terms of tropes. The movie tries to be funny and meaningful but fails. This is due to the lack of coherent plot, poor character development, simplistic transitions, terrible acting, to name a few reasons. The effects and fighting scenes are interesting but never used effectively.
Mortal Kombat wants to be Fast and the Furious of fighting movies but ultimately fails.
Not a fan of the game but it's disappointing to see the wasted potential.
