Marie Nash – Google

I’m not loving this show and find it almost incredible it’s being compare to one of the best US series on TV. The West Wing was so much better than this could ever be. Years ago I read reviews of The West Wing by a variety of presidential Chief of Staff. They all agreed it was pretty much spot on in the realty of the show. I’m finding the character of the Ambassador annoying. Why would you punch and beat your husband in the grounds of your official residence and then see the President covered on dirt and twigs. It’s just not good, and I’d also like Russell to maybe wash and brush her hair.

There appears to be very little police investigation in this programme. Lots of angst from the main player, buying alcohol and pouring it away, pouring wine and walking away, buying cocaine and snorting it, shouting and screaming about his tortured past but little real looking investigative police work. The usual stupid boss who seems frightened of losing his job pretty much all the time. The first real bit of possible police work comes in episode 4. Don’t waste your time it’s not worth it

Not really like the book at all. The heroine doesn’t seem like a very nice person. She is scathing of so many people. Young ladies did not drink and certainly not out of a bottle. I can’t understand why people would want to change a novel to the point where it’s almost unrecognisable as a work of Jane Austen. The BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice was very popular, people loved it and it was very much as Austen had written it. I disliked this intensely. I would have liked to give it no stars!
