The blind casting phenomena is the worst thing that ever happened to TV and film in the modern era. This is not a right wing talking points or anti woke tirade. Its really really aweful and bizzare. How can you depict 16th century England like you depict modern England. The author CJ Sansom took great care to depict the period with accurate attention to detail. The producers of the show couldn't be bothered to do the same. If you don't care about history in general of the souce books in particular, you might enjoy the show. Personally, I couldn't get past the first episode.

For those complaining about animal killings, there is a disclaimer at the end of the movie "No animals were hurt in the making of this movie". While animal killing used to happen in the past while making movies, I doubt that these filmmakers would lie. How did they accomplish this and make it so realistic, I think thats what they call "filmmaking" , "special effects", "editing", "props" and so forth.

Wow. 94% Rotten Tomato positive rating. Rave reviews all around. It must be a great movie. Why do I think it suck?. Its me. I just can't move past the plot holes, the lack of logic, the inconsistencies, and the bad acting. 1-Experienced outdoors persons with guns who are afraid of a wolf. I live in a city but even I know that wolves don't attack suddenly but you can see it coming and probably easier to shoot than a bear and other predators. 2-Experienced outdoors persons who don't have enough food to eat. These are people who supposedly lived there for decade but only eat meat. Nothing is planted like vegetables or fishing from a lake. The mom and her daughter literally ran out of food in the middle of the movie while the dad is out hunting for a wolf. 3-A "Mean wolf" who the family are afraid of and seem to have a history with but no explanation is given as to why, but that is not what the film is even about because the movie takes a 180 degree turn and the wolf plotline is replaced by a serial killer. 4-A father who finds dead bodies of young girls but does not call authorities. Instead, he tries to hunt the killer himself while leaving his wife and daughter back at the cabin. He doesn't even tell them what he found so they can at least be on guard. 6-An ending that is completely out of place and does not make any sense. This is a Canadian production. Canada, stick to hockey and maple syrup and leave movie making to America.
