I loved His Dark Materials and La Belle Sauvage but I am really struggling with The Secret Commonwealth. It is so disjointed and seems to focus too much on the Magisterium which I found rather boring. The book could have been about 200 pages shorter without missing anything important I hate the idea that Pan and Lyra aren't together but I am about 3/4 of the way through and can't see them joining up again soon. I think Phillip Pullman made a big mistake with this one and i'm not sure if I will want to read the next one as it appears to be a contiuation of this story.
