Genuinely love this show. The environment, side characters, all of the casts are all amazing. Everything was great except the main character. To get started, I think the actor that played Andi Mack is talented and I was excited the lead would be Asian as an Asian person myself. However, the way she was written was terrible in every way possible that I refuse to like her. She is extremely entitled and ungrateful, and that's saying something when I've seen a Disney show full of rich kids. She has MAJOR mood swings and thinks she can get everything she wants and not to mention she has plenty of comebacks that are supposed to be serious and rude and its supposed to make the person on the receiving end feel bad - spoiler alert, usually they did nothing wrong to receive harsh comments - , but in my opinion I just laugh at how silly the comebacks were and sometimes utterly confused as they may come out of nowhere (Mood Swings). The blatant disrespect she may give towards Bex - Andi's mother - sometimes is extremely sad considering I love Bex as a character and Bex doesn't deserve any of it. In fact, I can't think of a time Bex wasn't rude for a genuine good reason, other than when she was a teenager I would imagine, but their were barely any scenes of that. Of course main characters will get what they want sometimes, but for Andi Mack when things don't go her way, she will be extremely bratty until it actually goes her way. For example, she gets mad and petty and even pushes Bex to marry Andi's dad when Bex didn't accept his marriage proposal... like Andi, that's not your choice. Not to mention Andi doesn't even know the definition of a loving relationship considering she is in one. Girl really be saying they not together with her boyfriend one episode, then another episode she says they're together, then another episode they're not together lmao get your priorities straight, its a miracle the kid even still likes you with that attitude. Other than my obvious disgust over the main character, I truly believe this show explains actual real life stuff that kids should learn about. They introduce LGBTQ characters, Panic attacks, and Teen pregnancy. These are all things that usually aren't addressed to children and may have to experience this later in life, which is why shows like these really help kids, especially gay kids. Some might even say these problems are relatable, and god help you if this is relatable on the teen pregnancy problem. Also I love Andi's friends - especially Cyrus, he's the best character in the show for me - like they're just super supportive over Andi *cough* she doesn't even deserve that kind of support. Andi needs actual therapy. Overall I'm giving it 5 stars because the show is really good and enjoyable, and I'm not going to say this show is bad because of how poorly written Andi's character was because everything else makes up for it. Although, if Andi wasn't part of the show, it would be a 6/5. I think Andi's character was good at season 1 as she was super sweet and someone you can relate too, but season 2 and 3 just made her so bratty. I don't even think Andi got any character development. Even the 'mean' girl that's supposed to be a reoccurring side character in the show got character development and not the lead character which is slightly embarrassing.
