I agree with others reviews that the writing for this show is terrible. The two main characters have no depth-Alyssa and Jack- , no chemistry, even their acting skills are kind of awful ... and their characters are so so stupid! One illogical decision after another. The only characters I liked personally were Lilith, Hamish and Vera. Jack's story was never fully explained or allowed to unfold. Then you have the very one- dimensional grandfather with a one minded grudge, who dies in a terrible comedic way as his parent and confidant for season one. Alyssa is never rounded out as a character either. For a mentor to Jack, she is just a very dumb person. Except for the last few episodes of season 2, she barely has her own thoughts and has no logical reasoning at all. She does whatever she is told by whatever mentor she currently idolizing and is paying attention to her. I really kept hoping that this show would turn into an actual story instead of characters floundering around 'for the greater good' with half formed thoughts and plans... it just doesn't get there.
