The film does not capture even 10% of what Napoleon Bonaparte was. It is not a historical film. Still, I think the production of the film was good, but the time would have been better spent presenting a lot more of Napoleon, rather than his depressive relationship with Josefine. So many important things were missing, such as the important figure of his mentor Pasquale Paoli, the creation of the Napoleonic Code, which transformed civil relations completely and was the beginning of what is today the Civil Code. Other parts that were not talked about were Napoleon's life in Corsica, when he was a child, his boarding school in France, his close relationship with his brother, the discrimination he suffered for having yellow skin, being a Corsican, and his short stature. His humble background, and what he achieved because of his intelligence and persistence. Also, his attempt to organize a political party to make Corsica independent from France. The real Josefine was not in the movie, she was a political advisor to Napoleon, elegant, intelligent, diplomatic and with political influence. It lacked a lot in content. Furthermore, Napoleon was a great orator and in the film Napoleon had very little dialogue, nothing to do with the real Napoleon.
