i had such a genuinely good time watching this!! as a long time fan of the books, i must admit my expectations were really low, but i was so gladly surprised! it’s fun and unserious and just overall a real nice time. it is not like the books, the story does feel like a reboot or a rewrite, but i enjoyed most changes and felt invested in it - in a different way than the books. its like a different experience but within this world and with these characters that you love. i had a blast !! it’s truly sad that this didn’t come through the way i think it could have, both for the fans and new audiences (and yes, a part of me still wanted a bloodlines adaptation!!!). anyways, watch it if you’re looking for a fun time with an interesting story and unexpectedly good performances
