I totally enjoyed this mini series so much I brought the entire DVD set. This is one of Stephen Kings most epic tales. To call this tale quirky alone is to do it a great disservice. Is it horror yes but Kingdom Hospital is so much more than mere horror. Kingdom Hospital plays with your mind. The story is not so much told as it is weaved. The characters are epic not because they are mad as hatters in the traditional horror show ways. Kingdom Hospitals characters are just a little off but each in their own weird way. I was hooked when the German Shepherd dog spoke saying in a thick German accent, "What do I know I am just the dog!" Funny as it might seem the characters read as if they are all written to be over the top but they are not. In Kingdom Hospital insanity is the new normal and its played that way to near perfection. Kingdom Hospital has a multi-layered backstory that lures one in and gets you so engrossed in the plot you lose all sense of the passage of time. The plot reveals itself like an onion of many layers. The creepiest aspect of Kingdom Hospital is revealed when they start talking about the Old Kingdom Hospital. Only down side is the plot is rather complex. Lots of information is imparted in every Kingdom Hospital scene much of it subtle. Kingdom Hospital exists outside the box and enjoys its life there. Visit Kingdom Hospital on DVD.
