Yesterday, we watched Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD. We left home an hour early, but the notorious Guwahati traffic made us late. Despite the chaos, we managed to find parking and reach the hall in time. The movie was a complete waste of time, energy, and resources. It had nothing substantial about Kalki or Ashwatthama played by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. Brief flashbacks to the legendary war of Mahabharata were underwhelming, and even Amitabh Bachchan's dialogue delivery could not save it. It felt like a mix of nonsensical stunts, pointless romantic scenes and sci-fi elements copied from Marvel films. With a promising storyline, the film could have explored Ashwatthama's story and the significance of Kalki's birth. Instead, it was utterly disappointing.
I regret wasting 5-6 hours on this movie, especially when I could have watched the Euro 2024 quarterfinals at home. This regret will always stay with me.
