A great read full of intimate moments, compassion and the frailty and strength of one man's belief. Read out of the context of its time it is not weighed down by issues of segregation and becomes something else. It provides stero types and then asks them to question there own actions and in so doing they become something of a reflection of ourselves. Leaving us to ask why do good, why do ill, why can some of us never change and are finally are we always in danger of being only the person we are relative to the deeds of others.
