This game is amazing. For the first few hours. Once the honeymoon phase ends all you’re left with is an unfinished game. It’s UNBELIEVABLE how MUCH this game is missing that the older titles had. You’re better off playing New Leaf or any of the older games for that matter. The whole “free updates through the year” sounded like an amazing idea for me at first, but almost every single update has been EXTREMELY underwhelming. Barely any new items and the seasonal events are a complete and utter joke. I can’t even look at this game without feeling an overwhelming amount of disappointment. For every step forward they made with this game (the impressive amount of customization options compared to the older titles, the BEAUTIFUL graphics) they took about 5 steps back (villagers are the worst they’ve ever been, multiple QoL issues, the godawful tool breaking mechanic).They had such an incredible opportunity to make this game the definitive AC experience and they dropped the ball hard on this one.
