This movie is less about the Chernobyl event itself and multiple sides forming it, but more of what could be an individual experience of one of the volunteer liquidators. Danila Kozlovsky is a young director, belonging to past- Chernobyl and past- Soviet generation, a factor that certainly contributed into him failing to recreate an environment, spirit and characters true for the Soviet era. Personally, I couldn't connect with the movie's characters and also found the film itself too long and draining for the messages it tries to convey, and too main character superhero focused. I find the HBO Chernobyl series by far more powerful and insightful for those who want to experience the Chernobyl event and find answers to the questions surrounding it, while Netflix "Inseparables" was capable to generate a connection with the film's characters on an emotional level. Still, not a terrible movie to watch if Chernobyl is a matter of interest in my opinion, as long as there is no high expectations around the plot, directing or acting.
