Exceptionally well researched and referenced, while being very readable. The authors take a naturalistic approach for the most part, but also allow for "fairhful" interpretations of some writings and events. Even though I was aware of Masonry's influence on 18th and 19th centuries America, this book demonstrates to the reader how all pervasive Masonic thought, practice and philosophy were in 19th century New York and surrounding states. Highly recommended.
