This is a wonderful film, depicting the complex relationships of anti- Nazis and Nazi sympathizers in a rural German village immediately after the war, and the ethical dilemmas they face when the area is divided between the Amercans and the Soviets. It reminds me of The French Village, another WW II masterpiece.
