One of my all time favourite novels, I'm afraid the film was a big disappointment (I watched it all the same, hungry to see any screen depiction of the story). I'd read poor reviews of this series before I started watching it, which was just not reflective of what I'm so enjoying. Not constrained by the movie's two hour length, the series is giving book room to breath and portray the nuance and mixed feelings of all involved. Without quibbling on specific details (which are not all in the book), the essence of the story is true to the book, and the all the better for it.
