It would have been better if it wasn't written as a stand alone film that was shoe horned into a 'trilogy' that was supposed to be the DC version of the Avengers thing so BvS was the second in many and was only called a trilogy AFTER the first release of JL failed to impress. This is a depressing and joyless exploration in the splashy visuals and pretty faces. Lois figures out the identity Superman in a way a 8 year old uses the internet and death scene of Pa Kent is something that makes no sense and is a bit funny. This movie relies on you knowing the basics of Superman and makes changes to subvert your expectations and it is not done with any grace. Goyer and Snyder are good when the content isn't trying to make any kind of logic or have any depth. Taking time to listen to Lois give us a narration is when we can take a pee break. This would have been impressive if made by a first time screenwriter/director combo. Better Superman stories in the Animated universe. We can hope post 2021 there will be a Superman that is truly bright and amazing as the character we have had for decades. I am not impressed by a Superman that is 'gritty'. We have other characters to explore those themes if you want to make a depressing film series.

Better than the Snyder films. This embraces the comicbooks while changing characters for no reason and resting heavy on the previous films characters and beats. This is not Bane, it is Grundy in a Bane outfit. The Mr. Freeze version is campy and silly and it works in the context of the 1960s show. The uneven application of 60s and 90s style with a weak story make it hard to swallow at times. Start the film knowing it is a live action cartoon with a story that was assumed to be secondary to the spectacle. A tighter story and representation of characters as they are in the comics would have saved this. also... Bat Nipples...
