To all those who gave this movie less than 3 stars: yes, it's upsetting and uncomfortable. That is the point.
Almost all of the negative reviewers I have read fail to understand that the 'over-loud soundtrack', 'frantic editing', 'excessive bad language', etc. are tools used by the Safdie brothers to craft an anxiety-inducing fever dream of a film that keeps any person with an open mind, a good imagination or an appreciation of film as an art form, an edge-of-the-seat ride.
Excellent movie.
